Valpuri KAARNINEN

Valpuri started circus at the age 12 at the Sorin Sirkus youth circus in Finland and she received her professional training in École Superieure des Arts du Cirque (ESAC) in Belgium. Valpuri and her trapeze group graduated from ESAC in 2014 with an original triple trapeze number. During the three years they developed a style where two catchers swing and toss one flyer.
In January 2015 the trio won with their triple trapeze act a silver medal at the prestigious Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain in Paris. During the first years of their career the trio worked with Cirque du Soleil in their summer show Scalada and did a 7 theatre tour with Europe’s largest variety company GOP Variete.
In 2017 the Wise Fools created their first open air performance Trashpeze, which a 30 minutes long performances with comedy and  aerial acrobatics. Since then Trashpeze has toured for example in Japan, Australia, Singapore, South Africa, South-Korea and all around Europe. They have perfomed on such large-scale festivals like Seoul Street Arts Festivals, Daidogei Festival and La Mercé. During the pandemic in 2020 the trio created their second performance Grandesque which was targeted for small venues.
In 2017 The trio founded also a bigger company Sirkum Polaris which consists of 11 performers who all started at Sorin Sirkus youth circus in Finland and later went to professional circus schools around Europe and worked with the biggest circus companies in the world. Their first show Kulovalkea has been created in collaboration with Olli Vuorinen and the Nuua company.
