Hans-Joachim David

Hans-Joachim (Hayo) David is originally from Berlin. After studying at the Theaterschool in Amsterdam, where he obtained a BA in Dance and Choreography, he lived and worked in New York City, performing with various artists such as John Kelly, Remy Charlip, Jo Andres, and Yoshiko Chuma. Upon returning to Europe, he met the director Frederic Flamand and began a long collaboration, first as a dancer at Plan-K and Charleroi/Danses, and later as a choreographic assistant in various international projects. Concurrently, he developed his work as a choreographer and, notably, as an educator. He has taught classes and workshops in numerous companies and institutions across Europe. He has been a professor at ESAC since 2016.
